Paint Correction in Wantagh, NY
Paint correction is the process of machine polishing your clear coat to reduce swirl marks, light scratches, haze and oxidation. It's what brings back real depth and clarity — something no wash or wax can do. We perform paint correction on-site in Wantagh and across Nassau County.
Paint Correction is quoted per vehicle — call or text (516) 450-5279 for pricing.
What is paint correction?
Most paint defects live in the top layer of clear coat. Paint correction carefully levels that layer with machine polishers, pads and compounds so light reflects evenly again. The result is sharper reflections, deeper color and a much glossier finish.
Swirl marks and light scratches
Swirl marks are the spiderweb of fine scratches you see in direct sunlight, usually caused by automatic car washes and improper drying. Light scratches that haven't gone through the clear coat can typically be removed or greatly reduced.
Oxidation and paint clarity
Sun exposure can leave paint looking chalky, faded or dull. Polishing removes the oxidized layer and restores clarity and color.
Machine polishing: one-step vs. multi-step
A one-step polish uses a single compound and pad combination to remove a large share of light defects and dramatically improve gloss. It's the right choice for most daily drivers.
A multi-step correction uses a heavier cut followed by refining polish to remove more defects. It takes longer and is best for darker paint or enthusiasts chasing a near-flawless finish.
What can and cannot be corrected
Swirls, haze, water spot etching, oxidation and light scratches usually respond very well. Scratches you can catch with a fingernail, rock chips and areas where the clear coat has failed cannot be polished out — those need paint touch-up or body work. We'll show you what's realistic during the inspection.
Our paint inspection process
We wash and decontaminate first, then inspect panels under strong light and test a section to find the right combination before correcting the whole vehicle.
- 1. Wash and decontaminate
- 2. Inspect paint under light
- 3. Test spot to set the process
- 4. Machine polish panel by panel
- 5. Wipe down and final inspection
- 6. Protect with sealant or ceramic coating
Ceramic coating after correction
Freshly corrected paint is the perfect base for a ceramic coating. Coating after correction helps preserve the finish and makes it easier to keep swirl-free with proper washing.

Paint Correction FAQ
Will paint correction remove all scratches?
It removes or reduces most light defects. Deep scratches that cut through the clear coat can't be polished out safely.
Does polishing damage paint?
Correction removes a very small amount of clear coat. Done carefully with paint inspection, it is safe; we avoid unnecessary aggressive cutting.
How long does paint correction take?
A one-step polish is usually most of a day. Multi-step correction can take longer.
Should I get ceramic coating afterward?
We recommend it. Coating helps protect the corrected finish and makes maintenance easier.
